Description: Sandbaggy Premium Landscape Fabric FeaturesLESS HEAT THAN BLACK FABRIC: Our Sandbaggy Orange fabric reflects heat as opposed to absorbs heat. Research at Penn State showed that black fabric increased the soil temperature by up to 5°F which could kill plants in high heat areas such as Central California or Florida. Choose Orange instead!SAME, STRONG MATERIAL AS FLOOD CONTROL SANDBAGS: The durability of polypropylene woven fabric has been tested in severe flooding across this country and has stood the test of time. The same material that protects cities from being inundated with floodwaters is also used to produce Sandbaggy's commercial grade landscape fabric. STOP WEEDS: Using thick 3 oz fabric tightly woven by industrial grade looms, it makes it much more difficult for weeds to puncture through the fabric. Another side benefit with landscape fabric is that it helps prevent weeds from growing by blocking out the sunlight weeds need to grow. KEEP SOIL IN PLACE: Weed barrier keeps your soil in place and prevents it from being eroded away during a rainstorm. Great for use under mulch or in a greenhouse. LAB TESTED & INSPECTED: Sandbaggy inspects and lab tests landscape fabric to ensure fabric meets tough quality standards using strict ASTM standards. This means that you can rest assured that you are ONLY getting the best fabric! Sandbaggy Landscape Fabric is trusted by landscapers and farmers across this great country! Weed Barrier Fabrics are worth the money because they save the homeowner or property manager time from constantly removing weeds. In addition, if the homeowner is putting down gravel, adding a layer of landscape fabric not only stops weeds but separates the gravel with the dirt beneath. This keeps the gravel clean and free of dirt and creates a more beautiful landscape. What is the difference between landscape fabric and weed barrier?Landscape fabric and weed barrier are the same. Just different names for the same product. What can I use as a weed barrier? We do not recommend using other household items such as plastic bags or newspapers as weed barrier. We recommend buying a commercial grade weed barrier fabric for the job. What is the best weed barrier to use under rocks? For weed barrier fabrics used under rocks, we recommend using a weed barrier fabric with at least 100 lbs of tensile strength. This 100 lbs of tensile strength means that if you pull the fabric apart with your hands, it would take 100 lbs of strength to pull the fabric apart. Most fabrics from hardware stores such as Home Depot or Lowes only have about 25 lbs of tensile strength. Do you have to weed before putting down landscape fabric? We recommend pulling the weeds before putting down the landscape fabric. It just makes for a cleaner job overall. How many layers of landscape fabric? You should only use one layer of landscape fabric if the fabric is of quality. Make sure the fabric has at least 3 oz of weight and 100 lbs of tensile strength as a minimum. All Sandbaggy Landscape Fabrics have at least 135 lbs of tensile strength.Be aware of many low quality weed barrier fabrics from Home Depot and other stores that will end up requiring multiple layers of fabric. How to keep weed barrier in place?Weed barrier fabric is kept in place using Landscape Staples. Landscape Staples are pushed through the fabric and into the soil to keep the fabric from shifting or moving. We sell landscape staples from 4 inches long to 18 inches long. Shorter staples are used for harder/rockier soil while longer staples are used for soft/loose soil. Our most popular landscape staple is our 6 inch 11 gauge staple. Best way to lay weed barrier fabric? When installing weed barrier fabric, first clear the area of trash/sticks/rocks and etc. Then rake the area so it is as flat as possible. Once done, then roll out the landscape fabric and secure with landscape staples every 3-5 feet.Sandbaggy Landscape Fabric works great around plants as well. All you need to do is use a pair of scissors and cut an 'X' on the fabric where you want to place the plant.
