Description: Penn Antique Restoration 32"x79" Antique Victorian Wooden Screen Door * The first 4 photos show the door for sale and the photos thereafter show a similar door that was in much worse condition and we restored it. That door is not for sale. We only included the photos to show you how our repairs look like in case you'd want us to do some work to this door. Beautiful, antique, storm door salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door is made of solid pine and is completely painted green. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has 3 screened sections. All 3 sections have tiny rips and holes. I'm not sure that the holes are big enough to warrant replacing the screens, but that's up to you to decide. We could replace them if you prefer--email us for a quote. Hardware: The door has 2 working, spring-loaded hinges and 2 handles. The springs in the hinges are weak and the hinges should be replaced. Uneven Size: The width and height of the door was unevenly cut by about 1/2" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even 31 3/8"x79 1/4", cut it shorter/narrower or even build it up to make it taller/wider--email us for a quote. Condition: The door has a broken top rail, which needs to be repaired--email us for a quote. Otherwise, the door is strong, sturdy, and in good condition. It has cosmetic blemishes including nicks and scratches, however, once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, most of these blemishes will be removed by sanding. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear as subtle "character marks." Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: The door was installed using surface-mount hinges, so there are no mortises (slots or pockets) along the side of the door to consider. You could install your hardware wherever you like and define the swing of the door. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: 31 3/8" - 31 3/4" x 79 1/4" - 79 3/4" x 7/8" thick Too tall, short, wide or narrow? We could increase or decrease the height and/or width--Email us for a quote.
