Description: Harry Kale born in 1912 is a famous Catawba Valley potter from the early 20th century. This 6.5” glazed pitcher was crafted in 1991 and signed by Harry Kale on the bottom. The design of the pitcher from the blue sky color lines wrapping around to the five carved lines circling the pitcher gives it a beautiful, unique look. The five lines are all unique with some being straight around and others having a heartbeat like pattern. It’s a great piece of history from Catawba valley and sure to impress in your home! Whether you are a pottery enthusiast, Catawba valley history buff, or simply need that perfect vintage, handmade piece from a historic area, this is the decor for you! Dimensions: 6.5” height 5” width 4” opening Condition: Free of chips or cracks. Color is vibrant. Handle is a little coarse possibly from loss of glaze. The white or cream color you see where it is also sky blue, is not a chip but just white/cream instead of the blue. Overall in good condition for a nearly 40 year old piece and presents well. Please see all photos as they show every angle. This vintage 1991 Richard Kale (1960-2013) Catawba Valley Pottery pitcher is a unique addition to any collection. With a beautiful rose pink color and hand-painted design, this 5.5” pitcher is perfect for decor. The pitcher features handles for easy filling and is made from a combination of clay and stoneware materials. This original piece from Kale's Pottery has an arts & crafts/mission style and was studio crafted. The backstamp is incised and the finish is salt glaze. This handmade pitcher is a rare find for collectors and is a must-have for those who appreciate unique, vintage pieces from Catawba Valley. Richard, the son of Harry Kale is a well-known pottery family from Catawba Valley North Carolina. Richard made a lot more face jugs that I have seen and I found it unusual to see a pitcher from Richard. I do find it lovely that I have listed a Harry and Richard pitcher both from 1991. Dimensions: ~5.5” height ~4.5” width ~4.25” opening Condition: Free of chips. Color is vibrant. Please see the photos of the handle. There is a small crack from the handle to the pitcher. It is not loose, but there is a crack. I took photos of both sides to show as best as I could. Please review all other photos as they show every angle of the pitcher.
