1973 FORD MUSTANG 73 MERCURY COUGAR FACTORY AM FM RADIO NON-FUNCTIONAL CONCOURS

Description: Here we have a 1973 Ford Mustang or 73 Mercury Cougar original factory AM-FM stereo radio that I removed from a vehicle many years ago and properly stored. The FoMoCo part number on the side is D3ZA-19A241 (3FBZ). I recently bench tested it and determined it is non-functional and will need to be professionally serviced to play properly. It comes complete with a set of inner and outer control knobs as well as the shaft mounting nuts and lock washers. Overall condition is exceptionally nice, clean and all original. It’s physical appearance is suitable for a show car. The power pigtail is clean and uncut. The speaker pigtail has some splices. The tuner slides smoothly across the dial with no slipping The preset buttons work. All set and change station locations nicely. Slide bar toggles freely between AM and FM band location Balance lever below the tuning buttons moves freely. Dial light light works. There is no rust on the case. The clear plastic dial is not scratched, cracked or cloudy. Color of the dial numbers and pointer is sharp. To clear up any confusion many Ford AM FM radios from the mid 60’s thru late 70’s will fit the opening of your 1973 Ford Mustang but this is the correct one that would have come from the factory (see part number). If you show your car this is the AM FM radio you need to install to be Concours correct. Since this radio in non-functional and has not been serviced recently I will have to sell it 'as is' and advise it be professionally serviced to restore the sound quality and reception capability up to original factory specs or these can also be totally converted to modern day specs and features for the discriminating buyer that wants the original radio look combined with up-to-date sound and options.
