Description: This stunning 1970's handcrafted Redwood Burl coffee table highlights the natural twists and turns of Old Growth Redwood Burl. The piece finished in its natural state with no " crystals" or resin fillers adds warmth and nature vibe to any room. The base is a solid tree root structure and is permanently attached to the burl top by rebar making the table very sturdy. A redwood "burl" is an irregular growth on the outside of the redwood tree trunk and when cut and finished shows beautiful natural wood graining with a deep red color. The 4 " thick table measures 14" in height, 51.5" in length, and 26" in width making it perfect for displaying decor items or providing extra surface area for drinks and snacks. Being over 50 years old, there are some slight nicks barely noticeable. Take a close look at all photos. The piece is sold as is. Note: The magnificent California Old Growth Redwood tree is now protected and can no longer be legally cut or removed from the forests which makes this table even more valuable and treasured. Redwood trees in California have been around for over 20 million years. Some of the live redwood trees can be from 2000 to 3000 years old.
