Description: This is a gorgeous, one of a kind chiffon dress overlay gown. It's sheer, so you will need an appropriate undergarment (or significant amount of self confidence). Geometric bias cut, capped lace sleeves, and slight cowl neck make this an unforgettable vision. It drapes and flows beautifully. I recently got additional information about this dress from a fellow eBayer and am happy to share: "This style first appeared in the early '30s, during the start of the Great Depression. And it was worn until about 1934.This hourglass silhouette was a return to that of before the 1920s, and in reaction against it. The massive deregulation of the reckless pro-corporate U.S. Republican administration had destroyed the world economy, setting the stage for the horrors of WWII; so, fashion reflected the fear in society, and reached back to the silhouette of safer, more traditional times (1900-1914) than the wild, opulent 1920s. The waist line was raised back up to its normal place, and the bosom was raised and no longer mashed flat. If I had to pick a year: 1931." Condition: if you didn't know that this gown is 100 years old, you'd still think it's in remarkable vintage condition. It's structurally sound, no tears. It does have a couple water marks on the hips (captured in pictures), one small black stain on the hem (size of a pin head, captured in pictures), and once in a while you see a tiny pin head sized hole. Those are not visible when gown is worn, but I tried to capture those in pictures anyway. Measurements: Bust: 34 Waist: 26 Hips: 32 Length: 53 My dress form is 32X26X32 and it was an extremely tight fit in the hips. I'd say, the smaller in the hips the better for this beautiful gown.
