Description: 1898-O Morgan dollar, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by PCGS as MS-64. This coin is evidently one of the never-circulated stockpiles, kept in banks or the U.S. Treasury vaults until released for collecting. It has enough coin-stacking marks to make its grade appropriate, but it is also a good Choice "UNC" with its good strike for New Orleans Mint issues, with light pinwheel and frosty lustre. This coin is exemplary for its level, with its good strike and solid, clean lustre which can be a challenge for 1898-O. Numismatic historians might note with amusement that, prior to the 1960s Treasury releases of stores coins found in national vaults, that the 1898-O was so rare that '98-O Mint State coins were once star specimens of the best collections and auctions. This would definitely complete a "slab" collection of type or year type, or anything with Morgans in it!
