Description: For sale is a very rare 1896-O Barber Silver Quarter graded and certified by NGC as VF Details. The Barber Quarter was minted between 1892 to 1916 and was a very popular design in that it was used for the dime, quarter, and half dollar in that era. 1896-O is one of the rarest key dates of the entire series because they minted a very low 1.4 million of them. And then when you get it in a decent mid-grade like this coin it increases in value exponentially because typically Barber Quarters are found in low G & VG grades. The coin is 90% silver. As you can see from the pics the coin is in really nice condition--certified at a VF grade which is so tough to find Barber Quarters in. All lettering, date, mint mark, and raised images are clear and present. Every letter in LIBERTY on the obverse are nice and clear, which is the first thing to wear down on these coins. The coin's only flaw is you see NGC gave it a "Details" designation due to environmental damage, likely from the coin being exposed to the elements for a long period of time, like maybe spent time in the ground. But the Details designation allows you to get the coin for way cheaper. And it being graded and certified by NGC gives you confidence of the coin's grade and authenticity. Here is your chance to add a key date coin to your collection at a lower than market price. Thanks!
