Description: Presented is a great pair of French gilded brass or bronze portrait medallions of George and Martha Washington. This pair is displayed on a burled veneer wood frame. The medallions are brightly gilded and show both Washington's looking out with detailed facial features. The side of each portrait is inscribed: “Aphse Fouquet, (1859)”. This pair was certainly made between 1859 to 1880. This pair is in excellent overall condition. The details are well-executed. Medallions are securely attached to the wooded frames. Each back has a small loop which can be used to hang them. George Washington's frame has a few minor nicks in the wood on the corners. There are no breaks and no repairs.
