In 1861 he went to Hawaii to do this, then he got into much more trouble, but finally and surprisingly he became a government minister in Hawaii. Illustrated with original sketches. Hardcover, with debossed designs on the front and back, gilt titles on spine. 495 pages. Clean and solidly bound.
