Description: Listing for an authentic, antique Model 1850 Staff and Field Officer's sword with its original scabbard! There is a marking on the blade's ricasso. An up close image is provided to what appears to be a shield or a 'D'. I was not able to identify it in my web search. The brass hilt features an ornate, floral design. Blade length: 31.25" Total length: 37" This is a fantastic and original example! The blade is in nice shape with pitting and darkening nearing the base. The brass hilt is in good shape with spots of discoloration. The grip is worn and shows the underlying wood in spots. The scabbard has no dents with some oxidation and pitting throughout.
