Description: Original 1838 complete 5 volume set of Thier's "The History of the French Revolution," which is collectively illustrated with approximately 41 black and white plates. The books are overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. There is some sunning to the spines and the first volume has some moderate wear with some decent sized scuffs & scrapes to the leather. The remaining volumes just have some mild scuffing and wear. The bindings are all good and sound. There is an old bookplate and name inscription to the front pastedowns of the volumes and an interesting old 1896 tipped in bookseller receipt to the front fep of the first volume. The interiors are lightly toned from age with scattered foxing. A few pages have some marginal chipping which does not affect the text. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, minor interior crack, light bit of soiling or grubbiness, minor stain or marking, etc. The books measure approximately 8 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
