Fair condition. Front and rear hinges cracked with front board and endpaper partially detached. Head cap and tail of spine rubbed/chipped and binding is exposed at the head. Tips are bumped. Title page includes inscription, but no other known marginalia. Toning, tea-staining, and age-staining throughout. Text is legible but with various levels of fading. Two small holes towards the bottom of 69/70. Please see photos. James Hervey, A.M. was an English clergyman and writer, serving as the late rector of Weston-Favell, Northamptonshire. Meditations and Contemplations is his earliest work, originally released in two volumes.
