Description: This is a piece of ancient brocade cloth from the Mughal period of India. The brocade fabric is 4" by 3" and shows a person sitting on a fancy chair, (throne), under a tasseled hanging. The person is holding a flower in one hand and an unidentified object in the other. The penciled inscription on the back tells the heirs that this was purchased when Grandparents visited a friend who was working at the embassy in Lahore, Pakistan in 1970. The fragment in the center is surrounded by other antique bracaded fabric with typical patterns. It is mounted in a frame measuring 10.5" by 8.5". Condition is good, see pics. Email questions.
